This seems like a great one! My son has been playing trumpet now for 5 years and this series of books are easy to follow. He's an awesome trumpet player and as a result of music education an awesome student. He's also and awesome human being, but I'm going to go ahead and take the credit for that:)

This excellent book by Donald Waters offers a comprehensive overview of many important issues in managing supply chain risk. More than 15 case studies and a straightforward hands-on practical approach make this book an enjoyable read. I almost forgot that I bought this book as a text book. This book is written with the manager in mind, and is interspersed with examples from real life, along with calculations and illustrations that explain the concept in a manner that is practical and easy to follow even if you know nothing about supply chain management theory, common sense is all it takes. I highly recommend this book for anybody who wishes to learn the principles of supply chain risk management and put them into practice in one's own business. Worth the price? YES!

Great book and lots of case studies. I would give a 5, but the format gets a little repetitive. The book also glosses over some of the topics which will require you to find additional resources to learn more in depth. As a supply chain professional I find the book relevant and timely.

Excellent specific SCRM guidelines are provided, as it has been written with the practitioner in mind (although researchers could find some topics constructives.) About the Author
Maarten Dolk is a researcher and developer at the Freudenthal Institute for science and mathematics education in the Netherlands. He is involved in the development and research of in-service and multimedia in-service materials for teachers, staff developers, and teacher educators in a number of countries. He has been a collaborating partner in Mathematics in the City since its inception and is co-author of the first three books in the Young Mathematicians at Work series.

Catherine Twomey Fosnot is the Founding Director of Mathematics in the City and former Professor of Education at The City College of the City of New York. She has twice received the "best writing" award from AERA's Constructivist SIG and she was the recipient of the "young scholar" award by Educational Communication and Technology Journal. She is the lead author of the Contexts for Learning Mathematics series as well as the Young Mathematicians at Work series.

More specifically, he considers recursive methods often used when the structure of the Markov chain is upper Hessenberg, iterative aggregation/disaggregation methods that are particularly appropriate when it is NCD (nearly completely decomposable), and reduced schemes for cases in which the chain is periodic. There are chapters on methods for computing transient solutions, on stochastic automata networks, and, finally, on currently available software. Throughout Stewart draws on numerous examples and comparisons among the methods he so thoroughly explains.

One of those rare "readable" math texts

I can't believe this book has not been reviewed before! I grabbed this book and several others when trying to understand the usefulness of Markov chain theory for my dissertation. I kept coming back to this one because everything made sense. The book includes a late chapter on extensions of Markov chains that the author developed in conjunction with Dr. Chateau--these are so practical for computer scientists and engineers that I used them in the modeling and performance analysis of my own dissertation.

Yes, this is an older book, but if you are a student struggling with this topic in your own work you may find that a cheap, used copy of this text is just what the doctor ordered.

I felt it was sad story of a very low self esteem woman. Pathetic. She stays with this vampire who keeps her in the dark and only seems to want her after his vampire wife is revealed to be alive and has cheated on him the whole time. He just keeps this human around because he was trying to have his cake and eat it too.
